It is the time of the year when the weather is cold and the ground is hard. The trees and plants seem to be lifeless. It is a season when everything appears to be silent coined with a sense of stillness. Yet within the stillness, the winter wind is blowing freely, the chilly winds are everywhere and the snowflakes are falling. The snowflakes are soft, crisp white and cold. There is a gentle wind and a mystical beauty that lies within the season. There are sparkles on the patches of the snow that sparkle when the sunlight shines upon it.
It is a time of year that many people embrace because of the outdoor activities. Some people are not very fond of the winter season because they find it depressing while others enjoy and look forward for its arrival.
I personally believe that the winter is an amazing time of the year. Winter is a time when the days are shorter, and the nights are longer, the dried lifeless grass is covered in thick piles of snow, the branches are bare, the twigs are curved and the skies are dark and gloomy. The scenery of nature is like a mesmerizing piece of art for the pleasure of the human eye.
What to do on days like these?
Skiing with the family
Go on a nature walk
Play board games with the family
Ice skating (If you live in the Toronto area visit Nathan Phillips Square)
After all the outdoor activities go inside and enjoy a cup of hot cocoa by the fireplace with your loved ones.
